We purchased our home in Georgia 6 months ago and it is still a work in progress. I am taking my time decorating our home, trying to get things just how I want them and not throwing things together for the sake of filling up space. Today I am sharing with you Skye’s Nursery. I have been piecing things together since we moved in and I am finally happy to say, its complete! I really wanted to keep her space clean and simple and I love the finished look.
McKinley upgraded to a “big girl” bed so Skye got her old crib. It just so happens to be white and it fits perfectly. The dresser and tall cabinet were purchased at the Rooms to Go Outlet and The Land Of Nod Outlet. I dressed them up by adding gold hardware.
When designing her room, I knew I wanted to do something with light colors and bring in natural outdoor elements. The kids and I had fun making a few unique pieces for her room.
The kids and I found that really large tree branch at the park one day and decided it would make a really cool wall accent piece. Originally I was going to do a gallery wall with frames but I think this worked out perfect. I only had ultrasound images of our sweet girl when making that so I plan on adding current photos of her now that she is here. Once we finished the tree branch wall piece, I decided to run with our outdoorsy theme and make a wreath as a crib mobile. McKinley and I cut flowers and made the wreath together. I love that we all had a hand in makings Skye’s room unique and just for her. My husband had to hang everything and put the furniture together so that was his hand at things haha.
We wanted to create a space for Skye that would last a few years and was not too “baby”. I like that the room will grow with her.
Her room is light, airy and peaceful. It creates the perfect calming environment.
